Patient Group Directions (PGDs) is an EMIS Health package which consists of two components: the Clinical Services Hub (CSH) website and Service Hub Manager module within ProScript Connect. These are used in tandem to allow you to deliver PGD services to your patients.

A Superintendent for an organisation would use the CSH website to link Pharmacists to their organisation, as well as approve and sign authorised PGDs to be delivered by Pharmacists in the organisation.

A Pharmacist would use the CSH website to complete training and gain accreditation on PGDs. They would also use the CSH website to accept invitations to be linked to organisations.

A Pharmacist would then use the Service Hub Manager module in ProScript Connect (or the [PGD] button in a patient’s PMR) to deliver PGD services to patients.

The video below shows the end-to-end process for completing a PGD service using the Clinical Services Hub (CSH) website and the Service Hub Manager module in ProScript Connect.

Workflows

We’ve created a series of interactive articles that will allow you to follow the recommended workflows for the main processes you’ll undertake when using the Clinical Services Hub and Service Hub Manager at your pharmacy. The role in which each process relates (superintendent or pharmacist) can be found in brackets alongside the article name. You can follow the steps by answering questions based on your scenario and directly access related articles for further guidance if required.
