The patient has opted out of ODS
In this scenario, prescriptions are defaulted to be dispensed via ODS (in this example, FLOWRx) and dispensed via ScriptCheck (defaults have been set in Application Settings), but the patient has opted out of ODS dispensing.
An alert message is displayed when processing the script.
To continue dispensing using ScriptCheck:
- Click OK.
- On the PMR, Dispense via FLOWRx is greyed out and the script is automatically tagged to be dispensed via ScriptCheck.
- Click F8 – Last Item to add the script to the ScriptCheck Manager queue.
- On the ScriptCheck Manager screen, complete the clinical check and dispensing process with the other scripts in the queue.
Tip: Alternatively, you can complete the script locally on the PMR screen by selecting Dispense Locally.
Items can’t be dispensed via ODS
In this scenario, prescriptions are defaulted to be dispensed via ODS (in this example, FLOWRx) and dispensed via ScriptCheck (defaults have been set in Application Settings). An item can’t go via FLOWRx, for example, because the drug is an excluded CD or not on the permitted drugs cascade.
An alert message is displayed when processing the script.
To continue dispensing using ScriptCheck:
- Click OK.
- On the PMR, the Dispense via FLOWRx option is greyed out and the script is automatically tagged to be dispensed via ScriptCheck.
- Click F8 – Last Item to add the script to the ScriptCheck Manager queue.
- On the ScriptCheck Manager screen, complete the clinical check and dispensing process with the other scripts in the queue.
Tip: Alternatively, you can complete the script locally on the PMR by selecting Dispense Locally.
Prescription to be dispensed with ScriptCheck by choice
In this scenario, prescriptions are defaulted to be dispensed via ODS (in this example, FLOWRx) and dispensed via ScriptCheck (defaults have been set in Application settings). By choice the script is to be dispensed with ScriptCheck.
If the script has multiple items, the items can’t be split between ODS and ScriptCheck.
To dispense the prescription locally:
- Highlight the drug. Note that the ScriptCheck option is greyed out.
- Click Dispense Locally to remove the drug from the FLOWRx queue. The ScriptCheck option is now active.
- Click ScriptCheck.
- Click F8 – Last Item to add the script to the ScriptCheck Manager queue.
- On the ScriptCheck Manager screen, complete the clinical check and dispensing process with the other scripts in the queue.
A ScriptCheck item needs to be dispensed via ODS
If an item has been added to ScriptCheck it can be switched to ODS (in this example, FLOWRx) directly from the ScriptCheck Manager queue.
In the case of a script with multiple items, the items can’t be split between ODS and ScriptCheck.
- On the ScriptCheck Manager screen, highlight the required script to be switched to FLOWRx.
- Click Dispense via FLOWRx.
- A confirmation message is displayed.
- Click Yes. The selected script is now added to the Hub Queue Manager workflow.
Prescriptions with clinically checked status both Checked and Not Checked can be switched from ScriptCheck Manager to the Hub Queue Manager.
Any clinical check completed in ScriptCheck Manager will be removed when switched and must be confirmed as normal in the Hub Queue Manager workflow prior to sending to FLOWRx.
ScriptCheck and Hub Queue Manager workflows
A patient has a script in both the ScriptCheck and Hub Queue Manager workflows
If the patient has scripts in both workflows, when a clinical check is completed from ScriptCheck Manager, the item is tagged Hub Queue on the PMR screen.
