Medicines Manager (MM) is part of the Pharmacy Access package and enables you to electronically request repeat medications directly into the GP surgery’s EMIS Web system.
ProScript Connect identifies patients who are eligible for the Medicines Manager service, provided their details are correct and they have a valid NHS number. Once registered for the service, the pharmacy uses the repeat medication list retrieved from the GP system to send electronic medication requests. Upon approval by the prescriber, the prescription is issued as either an EPS prescription or a regular RMS prescription.
There are three paths to process an MM repeat request from start to finish:
- as a regular RMS Medicines Manager repeat request
- as an MLP Medicines Manager repeat request
- as an EPS Medicines Manager repeat request
In order for patients to be eligible for the Medicines Manager service they will need to meet the following criteria:

Managing MM Patient Registrations
The first stage of the process is to register eligible patients to Medicines Manager and obtain an up-to-date medication list. You can only register patients with a valid NHS number or equivalent and who belong to a surgery using EMIS Web.
