Licensed products by Rosemont are now available for both Venlafaxine 37.5mg/5ml oral solution sugar free and Venlafaxine 75mg/5ml oral solution sugar free. In order to be reimbursed correctly for the product that you have dispensed, the following guidance should be followed.

Paper Prescriptions

In order to dispense and be reimbursed for the licensed product, the prescription must state Rosemont on it. The licensed listing (the listing which does not include [SP] as part of the name) should then be selected from the main picking list and dispensing should then continue as normal. As long as the licensed listing has been picked, no additional endorsements will be required.

Prescriptions that do not state Rosemont on them will continue to be reimbursed at the Drug Tariff Part VIIIB price and the specials listing (the listing which includes [SP] as part of the name) should be selected from the main picking list.

If you wish to give the licensed product but the prescription does not state Rosemont on it, the prescription should be returned to the prescriber for amendment before dispensing.

Electronic Prescriptions

The prescriber will be able to select either the licensed product or the specials option when prescribing. Based upon their selection, when dispensing you will be automatically mapped to the correct product that the prescriber wishes to give.

If you wish to give the other product to what the prescriber has chosen, the prescription should be returned to the prescriber for amendment before dispensing.
