From 1st May 2024 for the products and packs listed in the table below, the VMPPs and AMPPs in dm+d are being updated to express the new pack volumes as the ‘Usable Volumes’ in dm+d and in Part VIIIA of the Drug Tariff May 2024.

Where an SmPC for an oral solution or oral suspension publishes both a reconstituted volume and a usable volume, and these are different, the pack size on dm+d and the Drug Tariff will be based on the published usable volume.

* Where a usable volume range is presented in the SmPC then the lowest level of the usable volume will be the pack size published on dm+d.

Until prescribing and dispensing systems are aligned, you may receive prescriptions for the older pack size. Where appropriate you may need to amend the quantity when processing the EPS prescription, as it would be less than the quantity stated on prescription due to these changes.

For EPS prescriptions for Oseltamivir 6mg/ml oral suspension sugar free (Tamiflu), Proscript Connect will not round down the quantity to the new 50ml pack size due to reconstituted flag. Based on these reconstituted pack rules it will allow you to give exact quantity or round up. Please amend Enter Quantity Required field for intended pack size in the Dispense EPS prescription window to ensure correct quantity.
