This functionality is only available to customers using the Electronic Prescription Service in England and Wales.

We have put together some frequently asked questions users have raised whilst using ScriptCheck, with the solutions to help you.

Dispense locally

 

Everything I dispense is being added to ScriptCheck. I want to label and assemble the script straight away. How can I stop an item being added to the ScriptCheck workflow?
Whilst processing the script, prior to selecting F8 – Last Item, highlight the item and click Dispense Locally. Repeat for all required items. All necessary labels will be printed, but remember the script still needs to be clinically and accuracy checked.

 

I have a patient whose scripts I don’t want to add to ScriptCheck – can I set the patient to always dispense locally?
Yes, from the PMR, click F1 – Patient Details, select the Services tab. In the Additional Services section, tick ScriptCheck Opt Out and then add an opt out reason. Click F10 – Save. 

Owings

 

While processing a script through the PMR, I know I need to create an owing. What is the best way to do this?
Whilst processing the script, prior to selecting F8 – Last Item, highlight the item and click Dispense Locally. Then create the owing as normal using F2 – Create Owing. 

 

I have added a script to ScriptCheck Manager, but now I realise that I need to create an owing – can I edit the script and create the owing from the ScriptCheck queue?
No. Owings cannot be created for items in the ScriptCheck queue. To continue, highlight the required script and click Dispense Now. On the following screen, indicate which item is to be dispensed now for an owing. This removes the item from the ScriptCheck queue. Complete dispensing the item locally, go to Reprints, find the item, and create the owing using F2 – Create Owing.

 

I have used manual complete and have the labels to assemble the script, but now I realise I need to create an owing. I cannot edit the script or use Reprints to create the owing – what should I do?
You will need to reprocess the script. From the ETP module, find the script and use Re-Process Script. Whilst re-processing the script, from the PMR and prior to selecting F8 – Last Item, highlight the owed item and click Dispense Locally. Then create the owing as normal using F2 – Create Owing.

Editing scripts

 

I have added a script to ScriptCheck Manager but now realise I need to edit the script. What should I do?You can edit the script from ScriptCheck Manager using F10 – Edit Script, so long as the edit is allowed for ScriptCheck items. For example, owings are not allowed. Once edited, the script will be tagged as Edited.

The clinical check for the edited items will be removed. The clinical check will only be required to be re-done for those edited items on the script.

Manual complete

In ScriptCheck Manager, what is the difference between Dispense Now and Manual Complete? Manual complete is only available to use once the pharmacist has completed the clinical check and will immediately print labels needed to assemble the script. Additionally, the clinical check is saved and can be retained.
