The Clinical Pharmacy Services (CPS), also known as the Universal Claim Framework (UCF) module enables eligible patients to register with and use a community pharmacy as their first contact for the treatment of common illnesses and clinical services such as gluten-free food dispensing and smoking cessation on the NHS.
Processing CPS Prescriptions
Stage 1: CPS Supply Form Print Options
Once CPS has been activated, you can select the CPS categories for which a supply form will print by accessing the Edit CPS Supply Form Print Options module.
Stage 2: Patient Registrations
Once you have selected your print options, you can register the patient to the MAS service. Patient registration can take up to 72 hours to be picked up by ePharmacy, which is why you can manually update a registration status to dispense CPS prescriptions, until such time it is picked up in the background.
Stage 3: CPS Prescriptions
Once the patient has been registered, you can start dispensing CPS prescriptions. These can either be minor ailment prescriptions, or any pharmacy services provided by NHS Scotland, such as gluten-free food and smoking cessation. Claims are automatically sent after endorsing.
In some cases, you may also want to refer the patient back to a consultant or GP, in which case you will be able to send a consultation or GP referral message.
CPS Reporting
ProScript Connect also enables you to print and export reports on CPS patient registrations, patients due to lapse within a certain time frame, claims and the overview of available services.
