SPRs are background and general training that may be required to allow you to provide the service. If you attempt to carry out a PGD for which you have not completed the associated SPR, you will receive a prompt stating you cannot proceed.

The prescribing organisation can also be updated by selecting the blue Select Prescribing Organisation option or the name of the prescribing organisation in the Prescribing Organisation section. The [F10 – Save] button should be selected to save any changes made.
If the prescribing organisation of the linked GP is in the incorrect format, an Invalid code tag will appear next to the GP’s name on the consent form. An Invalid code tag will also appear next to Registration No in the Edit Prescribing Organisation window. A prompt will appear stating that the PGD electronic message cannot be sent and suggesting that you amend the GP details or send a paper copy.

Links to additional resources can be accessed from the Service Wizard window, such as a GP feedback form, leaflets and links to information on the NHS Choices website. At any point, if the patient becomes ineligible for the service based on the answers to the questions, you will see an Ineligible tag appear at the top of the consultation and the remaining questions will be disabled. You’ll be required to save the PGD as ineligible by selecting the [F10 – Save] button.

Viewing the Transmission Log
If your patient confirmed they were happy for the PGD Consultation summary to be sent electronically to their registered GP, you can view the Communication Logs to confirm this has been sent.
The PGD consultation summary can take up to 48 hours to reach the GP’s inbox. Please note the GP practice staff will need to process and append the summary to the patient’s medical record.
- To view the transmission log, open the Service Hub Manager from the ProScript Connect Main Screen by clicking the [ProScript Connect] menu button and selecting the Service Hub Manager menu item.
- Locate and highlight the patient in the Service Hub Manager and select the [F4 – Transmission Logs] button.
- The Communication Logs window opens. Scroll through the list of messages to locate the Sent transmission displaying GP Kettering Request. This message indicates the consultation has been sent.
If the GP Kettering Request message is not in the Communication Logs, you will need to manually send a summary to the GP e.g. by post.
