ScriptCheck and the scanning app
ScriptCheck has been developed to allow pharmacists to carry out clinical checks for EPS prescriptions in batches. The clinical check will be retained for up to 6 months, subject to no changes being made to the repeat prescription.
The scanning app can be used by a member of the pharmacy team to create stock picklists for batches of EPS scripts that have been clinically checked from the ScriptCheck queue. Each picklist is used to gather all drug packs required to assemble the prescriptions in that batch, improving the efficiency of the dispensing process. By scanning the barcode on each drug pack, the app indicates which patient basket the pack belongs in. Drug labels are printed as part of this process. Finally, the scanning app aids pharmacy staff in ensuring the correct labels are on the correct drugs going to the correct patient. Once confirmed, the bag label is printed.
Getting started
Before using ScriptCheck with the scanning app, we suggest your pharmacy considers some workflow changes to ensure the time saving efficiencies that ScriptCheck brings are fully utilised. We have put together some implementation points for you to consider.

Clinical check retention
The retention of the clinical check has been registered as a Medical Device and is marked with the UKCA certification.
ScriptCheck will retain a clinical check from a patient’s previously dispensed prescription (up to 6 months), where all items have previously been clinically checked. When the repeat prescription is next dispensed, the clinical check is automatically retained, subject to no changes having been made to the prescribed items.
